Paramount and Activision coming Call of duty The movie will be set in Modern warfare universe.
Director and co-writer Peter Berg announced the news on Saturday during Fanatics in New York City, confirming that the film will be based on the most popular and recognizable spinoff series.
Taylor Sheridan, inventor Landmanthe Yellowstone universe, Lioness What’s more, he’s co-writing the screenplay for the studio alongside Berg, whose directorial credits include Friday night lights, warship, The only survivor and Deep water horizon. Sheridan, Berg and David Glaser of 101 Studios are also producing.
During a CinemaCon presentation in April, it was revealed that the planned theatrical release date was set for June 30, 2028. The release will coincide with the 25th anniversary of Call of duty franchise, which debuted in 2003.
“I told everyone we wouldn’t make a movie unless it was true. We found that partnership with David Ellison,” Activision president Rob Kostic said at the time. “We want to make sure the authenticity of the movie is captured on a human level so that it feels really real and gives it an epic scale.”
