72nd National Film Awards: Dhanush says his first National Award as a director is unforgettable; “I’m really humbled,” he says.
Actor-director Dhanush shared an emotional reaction after bagging two awards at the 72nd National Film Awards. His directorial venture ‘Raayan’ won the Best Regional Film award.
At the same time, he received the Special Mention Award (Best Actor) for his performance in the movie “Captain Miller.”Soon after the winners were announced, Dhanush took to X to express his gratitude.“I am truly humbled and amazed to have bagged the National Award for Best Regional Film for ‘Raayan’ and the National Award (Special Mention – Best Actor) for ‘Captain Miller’. My sincere gratitude to the esteemed National Film Awards jury and selection committee,” he wrote.
He added, “My sincere thanks to the press, media and social media for their unwavering support throughout my career. This is my third National Award as an actor and my first National Award as a director. None of this would have been possible without my fans – my pillars of strength. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
The actor calls Captain Miller a deeply meaningful confession
Dhanush also spoke about receiving the Special Mention Award for the film ‘Captain Miller’.
He explained that the role remains one of the performances he most appreciates in his career.He wrote: “This tribute to ‘Captain Miller’ is particularly close to me because I’ve always believed it to be my best performance to date. To receive a special mention for a performance I so highly appreciate makes this honor even more significant.”Talking about the film Raayan, Dhanush said that winning his first National Award as a director is a memory he will always cherish.He concluded by saying, “And the first one is always memorable. Winning my first National Award as a director for Raayan is a blessing that I will cherish forever. As I always say, Ennam pol vaazhkkai (Your life is built on your thoughts). Har Har Mahadev. Mammootty He won the Best Actor award for the movie Bramayugam
Veteran Malayalam star Mammootty also reacted after being honored at the 72nd National Film Awards. His portrayal of Kodumon Potty in Bramayugam earned him the Best Actor award.Mammootty wrote in his social media post, “Hearty congratulations to @dhanushkraja, Vaikom Vijayalakshmi, Shehnad Jalal, Rajkumar_KP, Team Feminichi Fatima, Team Bhadra Kali Natakam and all the winners of the coveted National Awards.
