First “The Odyssey,” and now, a few days later, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” During a recent promotional interview, Holland talked about what it was like to work with The Punisher actor for the first time, and how the actor was on set with everyone.

The two stars recently joined the popular reality show Hot Ones to promote The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. During their interview while talking about the films, Holland also talked about what it was like working on both films with Bernthal, and how their first experience acting together on set was a perfect fit for him. The two last shared the screen in the film “Pilgrimage”, which was released in 2017.Speaking about filming the project, Holland revealed that Bernthal took method acting to another level. Holland revealed that his character in the film was silent, so in order to get into his character’s character, John would avoid speaking entirely. The actor further explained, “I was his best friend in the film. Three or four weeks before the shooting began, we became good friends.”He also shared, “We were hanging out and then all of a sudden he said, ‘Listen, dog.’
I will have to do this. I won’t talk. I’ll go the full way. I don’t do that. I will need your help. I’ll need to lean on your shoulder. I’m like, ‘Oh yeah, whatever, man.’ Like, ‘If this is what you want to do, then this is what you want to do.’” He then commented that for the next two weeks, Bernthal remained committed to his cause, and would avoid speaking altogether, even in public.Laughing about it, Holland explained that at the time, they were filming in Ireland, and his fellow actor would continue his method acting even when they weren’t on set.
He added: “And we all know Jon Bernthal. We all love Jon Bernthal. My man loves to talk. So we’re sitting in restaurants and he’s writing down his food, and these are normal restaurants in Ireland, and I have to say, ‘I’m sorry about my friend.’ He’s just a pretentious actor.

How Jon Bernthal Stopped His Mission in Method Acting
Holland then offered some insight into what made Bernthal stop his method acting, explaining that it was a mishap at a restaurant that forced the “Punisher” actor out of his assigned process.
To provide more context, Holland said: “One day we were at a restaurant, and he had salmon and he wrote, ‘Can you have some lemon for his salmon?’ And I said to the lady, ‘Excuse me, can I have some lemon please for his salmon?’ And maybe she misunderstood me or something.”
She came and brought this lemon and dropped it in his drink and in the water. Then he immediately said: Well, damn it. I’m talking again.”On the work front, Bernthal and Holland will share the screen in the upcoming superhero film, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” which is scheduled for release on July 31. This will be The Punisher’s first appearance since Bernthal joined the MCU and took over the character.
