Actress Marina Michael Corsingale has shared a heartfelt message thanking those who stood by her following her recent comments about actor and TV presenter Pearl Money.Speaking to social media, Marina spoke about the support she has received over the past few days and said the issue was never about defeating someone else.
Instead, she described it as a healing process and encouraging meaningful conversations.Marina wrote, “It’s not about winning. It’s about healing…. To everyone who has been cyberbullied, ridiculed, silenced, or made to feel invisible for telling the truth or just being honest – this is for you and today, I feel seen.”Her latest statement comes after she publicly questioned Pearl Mani’s handling of criticism related to the Jantar Mantar protest.
Marina also criticized Pearl’s decision to disable the comments section of her social media posts and block users who disagree with her views.
Marina Michael says that appreciation is not a measure of a person’s worth
In her post, Marina recalled a previous interaction and said that personal appreciation should never determine someone’s worth. She also noted that the current discussion has gained attention because of how criticism has been handled rather than because of individual popularity.
“You once told me, ‘I didn’t even know you existed,'” she wrote. This is good. Recognition is not a measure of a person’s worth. It’s ironic that we’re having this conversation today because your words made people take notice — not of who I am, but of how I chose to respond. Sometimes, it’s not about who knows who. “It’s about who handles criticism with grace.”
Calls for public figures to take responsibility
Marina said people with large platforms should be prepared to face criticism and respond respectfully to different opinions.“Public figures have influence because the public gives it to them. And that influence comes with responsibility. If you choose to speak out on issues that impact society, you must also be willing to hear disagreement without labeling, ridiculing, or targeting those who question you personally,” she stated.The actor also addressed the practice of deleting posts and blocking social media users.She wrote: “Deleting a post does not erase the words that wrote it.
Blocking critics does not make criticism disappear. It simply creates an echo chamber where only praise is allowed. Leadership is not measured by how loud you speak when everyone agrees with you. It is measured by how calmly and sincerely you respond when people disagree.”
The actress says the issue is about accountability, not hate
At the conclusion of her note, Marina emphasized that her intention was not to spread negativity or target an individual. Instead, she said she expects consistency and accountability from public figures who use their platforms to shape public opinion.
“It’s not about hate. It’s not about bringing anyone down. It’s about expecting consistency, accountability and respect from people who choose to use their platforms to influence public opinion. If your position is fair, defend it with facts. Address the problem. Answer the questions. Don’t attack the person asking them. That’s the difference between influence and integrity,” she concluded.
