'Woh hamare liye Dhurandhar hai': Upasana Singh comes out of CINTAA in support of Ranveer Singh, credits actor's film with saving industry

FWICE has withdrawn its non-cooperation direction against Ranveer Singh over his exit from Don 3, following a legal notice from the actor. CINTAA’s Upasana Singh backed Ranveer, crediting Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge for reviving the ailing industry, adding that its success benefits every member of the crew working behind the scenes.

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) on Wednesday announced the withdrawal of its non-cooperation directions against actor Ranveer Singh, which were issued in response to his sudden departure from the film ‘Don 3’. The directive came in the wake of a complaint filed by Farhan Akhtar, who alleged that the actor’s exit from the project caused losses amounting to nearly Rs 45 crore.

Cinta‘s Upasana Singh Ranveer Singh supports, urges FWICE to lift ban

CINTAA general secretary and actress Upasana Singh, who was also present at the press conference, threw her weight behind Ranveer. She noted that his last two back-to-back songs, ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, gave the struggling film industry a much-needed boost when many films failed to perform. She also revealed that she personally urged FWICE to reconsider its decision and lift the ban on the actor. The actress said, “Ranveer Singh is the actor who is making the industry ko khada kar diya hai. Kitne filmin flop hoi hai aur humari making kis halaton se guzaar rahi hai, aur unke durandhar and durandhar 2 ne jo business kya hai, sloppy history bana diya hai. Ace actors ki bhoot zaroor hai, jinki filmin record as karen…” The actress said.

Upasana Singh says Ranveer Singh’s success benefits every crew member behind the scenes

Upasana illustrated her point through a personal story, where her son watched ‘Dhurandhar’ five times and still wanted more, which she says speaks volumes about the film’s appeal to audiences.

But it also made a larger point: A film’s success isn’t just about the stars or producers. It spreads to every boy, cameraman, lighting man, technician, and crew member who works tirelessly behind the scenes. “Aisi filmein banni chaiye, Humari best wishes hi ranveer ji ko, ki woh aisi tara filmein dete rah sana ko.

Upasana said that making humare mein bhi itna paise generates hota hai, woh humare liye Dhurandhar hai.

For starters, FWICE recently retracted its non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh after the actor responded with a legal notice.
