The ongoing spat between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar over ‘Don 3’ continues to be the talk of the town. After Farhan approached the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), they imposed a ban on him, which has now been cancelled.
But the topic still sparks reactions from across the film industry. At the trailer launch of her film ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhata’, Kangana showed her support towards Ranveer Singh and now FWICE Senior Advisor and Director Ashoke Pandit has responded to the actor-politician’s comments.Pandit expressed disappointment at what he believes is widespread misunderstanding of the issue. According to him, many members of the film fraternity have given their opinions on the matter without knowing the full facts behind the actions of the federation.
“A lot of people in the industry have started abusing us. Yesterday, Kangana also said something. We don’t understand the whole issue, and people are just commenting. Kangana also said that even I am banned by the industry. I said, ‘You are talking nonsense, that’s why I blocked you’. I don’t care. There is a big issue with the industry here. You don’t even know this issue. You are just saying things. We are not against Ranveer.”
“We are talking about what happened,” Pandit said in a conversation with HT City.He stressed that FWICE’s position does not target Ranveer Singh as an individual. Instead, he said the union’s intervention was linked to broader concerns regarding professional obligations and the potential impact such situations could have on producers, workers and technicians involved in the project. He stressed that people must first understand the details of the issue before taking sides publicly. His remarks came after Kangana Ranaut addressed the controversy during the trailer launch of her upcoming film, *Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata*. When asked about the non-cooperation directive against Ranveer, Kangana drew comparisons with her own experiences in the industry and suggested that criticism often accompanies success.“You ask me, I have been blocked by everyone! (Smiles) Toh mein ye kehna chahungi ki jab haisiyat badhte hai to dushman bhi badhte hain.
To him ab aisa nahi ho sakta ki aapki haisiyat badhey aur dushman na badhe. Toh aaj Ranveer Singh ko sochna chahiye ki unki kya haisiyat ki unke itne dushman hain! Toh achcha hain… zindagi mein jab aap aagey badhte hain toh kai Tarah ke obstacles aatey hain You can’t always have a smooth ride.
Toh mere saath toh itna hua hain toh See, today I’m feeling good. Meri Bhi Achchi Gaadi Chal hi Rahi Hain. “Toh ok kuch nahi farak pata, everything will be fine in the end,” she said. The controversy arose after reports emerged of Ranveer Singh exiting *Don 3*, the next chapter in the popular franchise backed by Excel Entertainment. FWICE stated that director Farhan Akhtar has approached the union claiming that the actor’s departure has caused significant financial losses, as significant pre-production work has already been done.Following the complaint, FWICE issued a non-cooperation direction against Ranveer. However, the federation has consistently stressed that it has not imposed a ban on the actor. According to FWICE, its actions focus on addressing larger concerns surrounding accountability, contractual obligations, and the well-being of those working in the industry rather than targeting any individual artist.
