Tom Holland’s family got together for a confusing search engine conversation about Christopher Nolan Odyssey -And break the Internet.
British actor Tom Holland, who played Telemachus in the film, was joined by fellow historian W.H The rest is history The film is co-hosted by Tom Holland, discussing the extraordinary scale of the adaptation, casting in IMAX, and balancing the film’s historical reality with ancient myth.
the Comfort is history Seating – something that prompted a few people Spider-Man The meme reactions – a reference to the actor’s upcoming MCU outing – also come as the historian finds himself in the middle of an unexpected culture war clash with Elon Musk over Nolan’s film. Musk launched what looked like a campaign against Odysseydrawing the ire of a flock of social media detractors who described the film’s diverse cast, such as Lupita Nyong’o as Helen of Troy, as “woke,” despite it being widely acknowledged that Homer’s work is, of course, a piece of fiction.
The podcast host was invited to the London premiere of the blockbuster, and later took aim at the naysayers: “More praise for Odyssey From people who – shockingly – actually waited to see it before offering their opinions. “Tom Holland is an asshole,” Musk replied, as he often does on stage. But the historian simply doubled down. “So happy to say it again,” he wrote on X.Odyssey Great movie, and you miss watching it because you think he’s awake or something to cut your nose off to spite your face. “Your loss.”
Nolan himself has brushed off the criticism, saying: Telegraph “These conversations come with the territory…these conversations that happen before people see the movie—they’re always irrelevant, because no one knows what the movie actually is yet,” he said in a recent interview.
One of the main actors told the director his name in the recorded conversation of The rest is history He believes that his and Anne Hathaway’s roles, such as Telemachus and his mother, Penelope, represent “the truth of the story.”
“Odysseus’ side of the story, Matt’s side of the story, they represent the myth,” said Holland, who co-stars with co-star Zendaya. “And this annoying game of telephone was played with this text. You know, it hadn’t been written down for hundreds of years. There was a dark period in ancient Greece where nobody wrote anything down, so they would sing the song. So to me, what I love about the creative choices that Chris made in this aspect of the story is that he kind of pushed the boundaries of what could be considered historically accurate or factual, because that’s what the myth is.”
The two also touched on the experience of filming in IMAX, with Holland (an actor again) telling the author, broadcaster and translator: “IMAX is a completely different beast. I would say there’s a big difference between acting on stage and acting on screen. Then there’s an even bigger difference between acting on screen and acting on IMAX.” He explained that you can’t hide anything in IMAX, saying the resolution is very good and “there are no secrets.”
“There’s nowhere to hide. It really promotes a more precise version of the performance because it can get a bit too much fast. So for me, I really enjoyed trying to find that precise point where you were working perfectly with the camera.”
