According to property registration documents available to Zapkey, Abhishek Bachchan has sold a luxury two-storey apartment in Mumbai’s Mahalakshmi area for Rs 14.5 crore.The total carpet area of the apartment is 2,249 sq ft and was a bargain at Rs 64,473 per sq ft.
The buyers are Rishi Mandawat, a partner at Bain Capital Private Equity, and Smita Mehta, according to filings.
The duplexes are located on the 40th and 41st floors
The property is located in Godrej Planet, a premium residential project in the Mahalakshmi area of Mumbai. The duplex consists of apartments on the 40th and 41st floors of Tower 4 (Strata).The deal also includes three parking spaces. The agreement was officially registered on February 12, 2026.Godrej Planet is a luxury residential complex with over 300 apartments in five towers comprising of 2, 3 and 5 BHK residences in one of the most exclusive areas of South Mumbai.Abhishek Bachchan could not be reached for comment on the transaction.

Meanwhile, Abhishek celebrated his 50th birthday today amid an outpouring of love from family, friends and fans across the country.Chief among the wishes was his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, whose heartfelt post on Instagram instantly caught the eye.
She shared a rare childhood picture of Abhishek in which only his eyes are visible, making it both nostalgic and intimate.Alongside the photo, she wrote: “Happy 50th birthday dear Babyyy-Papa, with much love, peace, happiness, contentment and the best of health. Abhishek was last seen in Housefull 5 which released in June 2025. The film was directed by Tarun Mansukhani and also stars Akshay Kumar, Sonam Bajwa and Jacqueline Fernandez. It became the fifth installment of the popular Housefull franchise.
