In a roughly five-minute video posted to his Instagram account on Wednesday evening, Justin, sitting next to his wife, Emily Baldoni, explained his silence and how they have been like a family over the past few years since the case that first captivated Hollywood broke in August 2024.
“We haven’t spoken publicly for the better part of the last two years, and it’s not because we didn’t have anything to say, because Lord knows we did, but we felt like every time we went to make a video like this, where we wanted to speak out, there was something preventing us from doing so,” began Baldoni, who directed and starred in the film adaptation of author Colin Hoover’s book.

Justin added that there were “a lot of hurtful things that have been spoken into existence over the last couple of years, that made a lot of noise, and we didn’t want to add to the noise. We just wanted to let the justice system take its course.” Emily also said that “the truth and facts speak for themselves.”

“We are recovering,” he said. “And if you’ve been through something traumatic, you know that healing is not linear. It looks different every day. I think we are closer and more dedicated and steadfast in our faith than ever before.”
Justin continued, “Also, this was in our hearts. There were so many of you, when we didn’t have a voice, you had our voice. You had a prayer in the beginning, which was to just pray that people would have discernment. And so many of you had discernment and used your intuition and trusted that. And you gave your time to fight for us.
