Speaking to reporters after his meeting with Rai, Jerry said: “My main goal was to check on his health. He is in good health, satisfied and does not feel any resentment at all about his resignation… He has no complaints. I also met some local seers and saints.”
Jerry added that he also met local seers and saints, who expressed their satisfaction with the decisions taken by the institution.
“They also agree and are happy with the decisions taken by the Ram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra Foundation. They also expect us to improve certain aspects of our worship rituals and operational arrangements, improvements to which we are strictly committed… Yesterday, I also visited the area where the offerings are being counted and inspected the changes we have introduced. It seems that such an incident will never happen again, given the level of caution being exercised now,” he told reporters.
Meanwhile, a police team on Wednesday took three accused from the Ayodhya district jail for questioning after a local court granted one-day remand.
The accused – Lavkush Mishra, Anukalp Mishra and Karunesh Pandey – were taken from the district jail to Ayodhya police lines as part of the ongoing investigation into the case.
According to SIT, CCTV footage reviewed from April 27 to June 5 allegedly showed counting staff hiding bundles of banknotes and loose cash inside their clothes, pockets, shoes and other hidden places. The report also noted instances where other employees appeared to assist or protect such activities.
The Special Investigation Squad stated that about 70 cases of alleged theft or embezzlement were documented during the period under review. Based on CCTV footage, financial records, recovery documents and witness statements, the report identified Avinash Shukla, Anukalp Mishra, Lavkush Mishra, Manish Kumar Yadav, Karunesh Pandey and Ramashankar Mishra as ostensibly involved in the case.
