The film is on track to become one of the biggest box office hits of the year, but not everyone is happy with its expected success.

Now, one of Jackson’s many accusers is breaking his silence on the matter.

Along with Wade Robson, James Safechuck appeared in the 2019 HBO documentary. Leaving Neverland He alleged that he was sexually assaulted by Jackson.

Through his attorney, John Carpenter, he posted an address this week Michael Controversy.

“Michael’s movie is coming out and it’s going to get a lot of promotion,” Safechuck, 48, says in the clip below.

“There are billboards and commercials and people just praising Michael and that can be motivating for survivors who have their own Michael in their lives, whether it’s a pastor who is close to God or an athletic coach who just helps the kids or a stepfather who supports the family.”

Safechuck went on to point out that accused abusers are often, ironically, the object of praise:

He continued: “Our attackers are sometimes praised, even after we come out and tell the truth,” adding:

“I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone and that there are other survivors who understand what you are going through and are there for you.

“And if you are feeling all these feelings, turn to the people close to you, turn to the people who support you and give you love and know that you are not alone. … [T]Telling the truth and telling what happened is good and is part of your healing.

Safechuck is one of several plaintiffs involved in an ongoing civil lawsuit against Jackson’s corporate entities, MJJ Productions and MJJ Ventures.
