'Charlie Kirk was against you on H-1B': Meet Indian-origin Aaryan Pathak who countered Vivek Ramaswamy on MAGA's Hindu hate

Vivek Ramaswamy was asked about MAGA Hindu hatred by Indian-origin student, Aryan Pathak, at a TPUSA event at Ohio State University.

Indian-origin student Aryan Pathak asked the Republican gubernatorial candidate in Ohio some tough questions about the “hypocrisy” of the Republican Party as Ramaswamy chaired a recent event at Ohio State University.

Introducing himself as an Ohio State University student, Pathak asked Ramaswamy that a TPUSA journalist had recently mocked a Hindu temple in Texas, but Ramaswamy, the leader of the Hindu Republican Party, was sitting at the event. He also told Ramaswamy that Charlie Kirk was against Ramaswamy in the H-1B visa program.“How can I call myself a true Republican when there is a growing number of people who, because of the color of my skin, because of who I believe in, and the practice of my religious faith, see me as someone who is not part of their tradition?” Pathak asked, noting that on the one hand, there is a rise in the number of Asian Americans in the Republican Party, and on the other hand, there is growing hatred against them.

He wondered if this was a strategy for the Republican Party in the post-Trump era.Ramaswamy said he criticized the left and the extreme right. “I am no one’s pawn, I am my own man. I follow no one but myself and ultimately God who I believe has put each one of us here for a purpose. The other thing is that I will never defend the indefensible,” Ramaswamy said.

“I criticized the left when I was CEO of all the companies that were buying into it.

I went the other way. I will not be apologetic nor mince words in criticizing the same kind of quasi-socialist, quasi-discriminatory ideology and self-hatred emerging on the right. “I will talk about it 360 degrees wherever I see it,” Ramaswamy said, adding that he believes in true conservative politics, which means believing in success.Regarding Charlie Kirk’s opposition to the H-1B program, the visa program that Ramaswamy supported but now mostly stays away from, Ramaswamy said hypocrisy exists everywhere in life. “It’s not a good point to be able to nitpick and take one person’s quote and match it to their party. The beauty of the conservative movement and one of the reasons I’m working so hard to get Donald Trump elected in 2024 is that I think there’s a big tent out there that has room for healthy disagreement like we have tonight.”

“Charlie and I have become very close. We’d have discussions where we agree on 95% of things. We disagree on 5% but we demonstrate a culture of mutual respect that at least adheres to America’s founding principles,” Ramaswamy said.
