New Delhi: Gujarat Titans’ comeback in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 continued on Friday as they registered a comfortable five-wicket win over struggling Kolkata Knight Riders at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
After starting the IPL 2026 season with two defeats, Gujarat Titans have now registered a hat-trick of wins to jump to fourth place in the points table with six points from five matches.KKR, on the other hand, suffered their fifth loss of the IPL 2026 season as they remained stuck at the bottom of the standings with just one point from a rain-induced no-result against table-toppers Punjab Kings earlier in the season. The Ajinkya Rahane-led side remains the only team without a win this season after 25 matches in IPL 2026.

GT chased down a target of 181 runs with two balls to spare against KKR and improved their net run rate (NRR) to +0.018 from -0.029 – a slight but significant improvement for the Shubman Gill-led team.The top three positions in the IPL 2026 standings remain unchanged, with Punjab Kings topping the group with nine points from five matches, followed by defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals – both on eight points, with RCB sitting second on a superior NRR.
The middle of the table is crowded with four teams on four points at this stage, with Sunrisers Hyderabad in fifth place with the best NRR, followed by Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings – all level on points.The bottom two teams are Mumbai Indians who are in ninth place with just two points from five matches, while KKR languish at the bottom.
