BENGALURU: When KL Rahul walked into the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday evening, it was with his usual swagger – but also with a quiet sense of homecoming. From security personnel to ground staff, familiar faces stopped to greet the local star, who acknowledged them with a smile.
The place, after all, remains a second home for Delhi Capitals’ top pros. It is the land where he honed his craft and where he hopes to rediscover rhythm after a so far stalled campaign.Facing his former side, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, on Saturday afternoon, Rahul will be keen to make the most of familiar conditions. After a prolific 2025 season in which he amassed 539 runs, the stylish opener has managed just 111 runs from four matches this year, with the highest score of 92 against the Gujarat Titans.
Few could question his lineage, but consistency has eluded him. However, RCB know better than most how dangerous Rahul can be if he settles.
