Ministry of Railways and Food Processing Ravneet Singh resigns from the Union Cabinet.
Punjab BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu resigned from the post of Union Minister of State for Railways and Food Industries on Friday. On the advice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Draupadi Murmu accepted Bittu’s resignation with immediate effect.
Bittu, who has been part of the Union Cabinet since 2024, is likely to focus on the upcoming elections in Punjab next year, PTI reported.
Bittu writes to Mann
Recently, the minister on Thursday wrote to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, requesting him to intervene for early resolution of the pending issues with the state government which are delaying several vital railway infrastructure projects across the state.
In his message, he stressed that timely completion of projects is not only of national importance but also crucial to enhancing railway connectivity, promoting economic growth, facilitating industrial development, improving movement of passengers and goods and accelerating the overall development of Punjab.
