Shobha (25 years old) and Vimla (23 years old) were scheduled to tie the knot on Saturday, and preparations for their wedding were in full swing on Friday night, when the accident occurred.

On finding the sisters, family members took the sisters to a private hospital in Jodhpur, where doctors declared the two women dead.

ADCP (West) Roshan Meena said the wedding celebrations at their home continued until late Friday night. Around midnight, the newlyweds went to sleep.

He added: “At approximately four o’clock in the morning, their health condition suddenly deteriorated, prompting their families to transfer them to a private hospital. They were declared dead upon their arrival, and their bodies were returned to the house, where preparations for the funeral began.”

When the police received this information, they arrived at the scene and stopped the funeral arrangements. The officials added that the bodies were taken to the morgue for examination and then returned to their families.

Initial investigations indicate that the sisters may have died after ingesting a toxic substance. However, the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the autopsy report is completed.

So far, no suicide note has been recovered from the scene.
