According to a PTI report, TMC members in several municipalities resigned in droves, while several elected representatives reportedly stopped attending their offices. According to reports, more than 100 council members have resigned.

According to TMC sources, the former Bangladesh Prime Minister told those present at the meeting on Monday that party workers should stand together in difficult times.

She added: “Those who do not wish to continue in the organization are free to make their own decisions.”

Meanwhile, reacting to the mass resignations, State Minister Agnimitra Paul on Tuesday criticized the TMC, alleging that the absence of elected councilors from municipal offices across Bengal is disrupting basic civic services and affecting day-to-day administration.

The BJP leader also accused the TMC members who resigned or remained absent from their posts of being “irresponsible” and “neglecting public duties”.
