Amid Don 3 row, Ranveer Singh seeks blessings at Chamundeshwari temple as Kantara imitation case closed

Ranveer Singh quietly visited the Chamundeshwari temple on Tuesday morning, a day after FWICE announced a non-cooperation directive over his exit from ‘Don 3’. He was wearing a mask and spent 10 minutes in prayer before he was identified. Singh’s spokesman cited “dignity, maturity and mutual respect” as reasons for his silence on the controversy.

Ranveer Singh paid a visit to the Chamundeshwari Temple, located atop Chamundi Hills, on Tuesday morning to offer his prayers. The visit came a day after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) announced a non-cooperation directive against him, following his exit from the upcoming film ‘Don 3’.

The temple authority confirms the actor’s darshan early in the morning

M G Roopa, secretary, Sri Chamundeshwari Kshetra Development Authority, confirmed the actor’s early morning visit, saying, “He visited the temple around 7.30 am.”

Ranveer enters the temple like a normal devotee

According to TOI City, the visit was kept private, as Ranveer quietly entered the building. He entered the temple around 7:30 a.m. as a regular devotee and spent nearly 10 minutes inside to offer prayers. He concealed his identity by wearing a mask, although temple staff eventually recognized him and welcomed him with a garland.

It is worth noting that the Karnataka High Court had earlier closed the proceedings against him in the ‘Kantara’ imitation case, with a direction to visit the temple.

The temple visit comes at a time when Ranveer finds himself in the middle of a growing controversy over his departure from the film Don 3. The Film Workers’ Organization has announced that its over four lakh members will refuse to work with the ‘Dhurandhar’ star. The matter was further escalated after the film’s producers, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, filed a complaint with the Film and Television Directors’ Association of India, which later referred it to FWICE.

FWICE issues a strict non-cooperation directive against the actor

According to FWICE Honorary General Secretary Ashok Dubey, the non-cooperation directive was issued after Singh ignored repeated notices from the federation. “We will no longer work with Ranveer Singh, whether he is a photographer, spot boy, light man or anyone else from our side. This non-cooperation will continue until the dispute is resolved,” Dubey announced at a press conference.

In response, Singh’s spokesperson relayed that the actor has “deep respect and good faith” for all people associated with the franchise, and that his decision to remain silent on the matter was a conscious one, driven by “dignity, maturity and mutual respect.”
