Congress leader Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Delhi’s Sir Ganga Ram Hospital late on Tuesday, hospital sources said.

According to sources, the Rajya Sabha MP is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital and her condition is under follow-up.
Gandhi was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in the national capital in January as well after she suffered from respiratory problems. Sir Ganga Ram Hospital chief Ajay Swarup said at the time that a detailed medical examination revealed that Sonia Gandhi’s bronchial asthma had been slightly aggravated by the combined effects of cold weather and pollution level in Delhi.
For this reason, the doctors decided, as a precaution, to admit her for observation and continue medical treatment.
“She was experiencing respiratory discomfort and after medical examination, it was found that her bronchial asthma had been slightly aggravated due to the combined effects of cold weather and pollution. As a precautionary measure, she was admitted for further observation and treatment. At present, her condition is completely stable,” Swarup said in an official statement. Swarup further stated that the senior Congress leader was being treated with antibiotics and other supportive medicines.
