Aam Aadmi Party’s Raghav Chadha dismissed allegations that he had failed to raise Punjab issues in Parliament as “false and baseless”. The AAP MP added on Sunday that these allegations against him are “politically motivated”.

A statement issued by Chadha on Sunday said: “I completely reject the baseless and maliciously motivated allegations leveled by some Aam Aadmi Party leaders that I have failed to raise Punjab issues in Parliament.”
The AAP MP was removed from the post of deputy leader of the party in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. Ashok Mittal was appointed as his replacement.
He added: “Everyone who has followed Parliament knows the truth. During my tenure as a Member of Parliament, I have consistently, repeatedly and forcefully raised concerns about Punjab on the floor of the House. This is not a matter of opinion, propaganda or political interest. It is a matter of official record, available to every citizen to verify.”
According to Chadha, one of the major allegations raised against him was his “failure” to speak up about the Centre’s pending funds for Punjab.

He also pointed out that he raised several issues in the country before the House of Representatives, such as –
- Release of outstanding Regional Development Fund funds
- Groundwater depletion crisis
- Farmers crisis
- Financial injustice towards Punjab government
- Concerns about increasing drug use and abuse in the state
- Increase state security at borders
- Expansion of Kartarpur Sahib Corridor
- Visa-free pilgrimage to Nankana Sahib, and many more.
“Punjab is not a talking point for me. It is my commitment. It is my soul. I have always stood for the rights of Punjab, and I will continue to do so with honesty, courage and conviction,” the AAP MP said in his statement.
