Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, issued a stern warning to Pakistan, saying every “misadventure” by the neighboring country would invite a response “beyond their imagination”.
Addressing a gathering in Durras on Sunday, Singh also ruled out any dialogue with Pakistan except regarding Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
“There will be no talks with Pakistan except on PoK, which is a part of India that has been illegally occupied,” the Defense Minister said, reiterating the Centre’s standing stand on the issue.
The minister said that India is building data centers while Pakistan is creating “radical centres”, raising a sharp contrast between the two countries.

Referring to Operation Sindoor, Singh said the operation demonstrated the consequences for those who support or indulge in terrorism. “Operation Sindoor showed what would be the fate of those who indulge in terrorism,” PTI quoted him as saying.
The Defense Minister’s remarks came as the country celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas, to commemorate India’s victory in the 1999 Kargil War and pay tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives in the conflict.
There is no shortage of political will
Rajnath Singh said that the Indian Armed Forces have always had the capacity to defend the country, but what was missing in the past was political will.
“It is not that our armed forces lacked capacity in the past. They were strong then too. The only thing that was lacking was political will. From this rostrum, I want to assure you that there is no shortage of political will in the Central government, and there will be no shortage of political will in the future… We know that as long as you guard our borders and protect the nation, no one will have the courage to cast an evil eye on India,” Singh said.
“There was a time when those in Delhi did not give priority to the armed forces. Today, there is a government in Delhi that gives the armed forces the freedom to take decisive action in the interest of India’s security,” he added.
Evoking the spirit of the Kargil War, Rajnath Singh recalled Captain Vikram Batra’s famous slogan ‘Yeh Dil Maange More’, saying it reflects the determination and courage of Indian soldiers.
“Captain Vikram Batra said: ‘Oh Dil Mang More. This is the nature of our soldiers. The whole world must understand that, and our neighbor must understand that too,'” the Defense Minister said.
