Mann said the country will forever be indebted to its brave sons who guard the borders under harsh weather conditions.
“In the 1999 Kargil war, 527 soldiers were martyred, including about 65 from Punjab,” he told reporters. On this occasion, Mann also met some families of Kargil martyrs.
He said, “Martyrs do not belong to one family. Rather, they sacrifice their lives for the sake of the homeland, and the homeland becomes their family.”
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini also paid tribute to the soldiers who showed indomitable courage and valor in the rugged mountains and hoisted the tricolor flag in Kargil.
“The immortal sacrifice, unwavering resolve and unparalleled courage of these brave soldiers serve as an inspiration to every Indian. Their courage will forever keep the flame of patriotism burning in the hearts of the nation’s youth,” Saini said in a Hindi post on X.
