Exit polls on Wednesday showed a big win for the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Assam Assembly elections.
According to Matrez, the BJP-led alliance is expected to win 85-95 seats, while the Congress alliance is set to get 25-32 seats and the others are set to get 6-12 seats.
People’s Pulse forecast showed BJP winning 68-72 seats, Congress 22-26, AGP 7-10 and BPF 8-9 seats.
Axis My India also predicted a BJP sweep in Assam, where the NDA will get 88-100 seats, while the Congress-led alliance will get 24-36 seats.
The opinion poll showed that 48 percent of voters preferred Himanta Biswa Sarma as Prime Minister, while Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi received an approval rating of 32 percent of voters.

Voting percentage in Assam reached 64 votes. Elections in Assam were held in a single phase on April 9, while the counting of votes is scheduled to take place on May 4. The state recorded a voter turnout of 85.38 percent, according to the Election Commission of India.
In the 2021 elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party won 60 seats, while the opposition Congress Party won 29 seats, and the Indian Muslim Party won 16 seats.

Poll forecasts showed mixed results for Bengal. While Peoples Pulse showed that TMC has an advantage, Matrez showed that BJP is leading the state.
BJP vs Congress: Where do the smaller parties stand?
The BJP fought the elections in alliance with the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) as allies.
The opposition Congress has forged alliances with parties, including Raijor Dal, AJP CPI(M), All Party Hill Leaders Conference (APHLC) and CPI(ML).
