What did the family of the deceased reveal in the note?
The family held a man responsible for their deaths, accusing him of harassment. In the note found in her home, the 21-year-old woman stated that the accused proposed marriage to her, but she rejected the proposal in front of her parents, PTI reported. However, despite the rejection, the man continued to harass the family, while claiming to love her, a senior police officer told PTI.
The officer said that according to their memorandum, the accused pressured the family to marry the woman to him, even though she was engaged to someone else.
The accused sent pictures to the woman’s fiancé
After continuous harassment, the woman’s family allegedly summoned the accused and his parents to their home on the night of June 21 and issued them a warning. They also allegedly forced the accused to delete all messages and photos related to the woman from his mobile phone, PTI reported, citing the officer.
The Times Of India reported that residents of the village where the three deceased resided had earlier warned the accused against harassing the family.
