In a major development, the Madras High Court dismissed the appeal filed against an earlier order allowing Dhruva Natchathiram’s release.
According to Cinema Express, financiers Punniyamurthy and Premkumar have appealed the order which allowed the makers to release the film by June 15. However, a bench comprising Justices B. Velmurugan and Telagavathi rejected the previous decision and appealed.
This has come as a huge relief to director Gautham Vasudev Menon and the film team, bringing the much-awaited project a step closer to the release.
Gautham Menon Moves court on release schedule
Although the court allowed the film to be released by June 15, the makers could not meet the deadline. As a result, Gautham Vasudev Menon approached the court seeking an extension of time till July 15 to release the film. The petition was filed before Justice K. Kumaresh Babu, who postponed the hearing to June 17. The court is expected to decide whether to grant additional time to screen the long-awaited film.
