Ted Danson joins Elizabeth Banks and Rob Delaney in a comedy series on Apple TV

Ted Danson returns to the retirement community, but not to solve a mystery.

Emmy award winner and Man inside The star has joined the cast of the Apple TV comedy series starring Elizabeth Banks. Rob Delaney (disaster) Also the stars.

The currently untitled series from creators Liz Heldens and Matt Ward focuses on Heidi (Banks), a recently divorced woman looking to “secure a lively second act for herself and her children,” as the pitching line says. This is somewhat derailed when Heidi finds herself “coordinating the sexual escapades of her father’s retired society”, forming an alliance with the son of her father’s friend.

Danson will play Heidi’s father, one of the aforementioned sexual characters. Details of Delaney’s role have not been revealed.

The setting (though not the premise) of the Apple TV series echoes that man from the insideThe first season of the series, in which Danson’s character is hired by a private investigator (played by Leila Richrick Estrada) to investigate a theft within a retirement community. Netflix has ordered season 3 of Man inside Earlier this year; Danson will appear in both shows.

Danson’s recent credits also include a recurring role on Curb your enthusiasmnbc Mr. Mayor and The good place And voice work on My father is American. The two-time Emmy winner is repped by WME, Constellation Media Group and Ziffren Brittenham.

20th Television is producing the series for Apple TV.
