Following backlash over an offensive 2012 skit featuring TV personality Courtney Stodden, veteran actor Jason Alexander recently donated money to a charitable organization, according to recent reports.

Following her social media post about the matter and public backlash, Alexander issued a formal apology to the actress and online personality.Now, according to a new post shared by Stodden, the actor has donated thousands of dollars to Unchained at Last, a non-profit organization working to end child marriage in the United States. “I want to sincerely thank him for choosing to turn words into action,” she shared in her post. “Accountability is not about public punishment — it’s about taking meaningful steps that can help create change. My hope has always been bigger than my own story.”
If difficult conversations can lead to real support for organizations that protect children and end child marriage, something positive can come from something so painful.
Commenting on how this should become the norm, Stodden added: “When harm is acknowledged, meaningful action has the power to help others. This is how real change begins.” She then asked others to take inspiration from the veteran actor’s actions and donate to the cause of eliminating child marriage in the country.
