Actor Arjun Ashokan says staying fit became the most important lesson for him while working on Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies, which released today.
The film is inspired by the world of professional wrestling. It required heavy action, fast movement, and strong physical control. Arjun said there was no shortcut for the role.
Arjun grew up watching WWE. He admired stars like John Cena, The Rock, and The Undertaker. When Chatha Pacha came to him, he agreed without hesitation.
The film is directed by Adhvaith Nayar. Arjun said the two have known each other for years and shared a strong level of trust from the start.
Three months of hard training
Arjun said the team trained for nearly three months before shooting began. The focus was on strength, balance, and safety.
He said the training was not just about fights. It was also about avoiding injuries and learning control inside the ring.
The action scenes were designed to look real but remain safe. Arjun said fitness was the only way to make it believable on screen.
No body doubles for action
Stunt director Kalai Kingston handled the action. Arjun said none of the actors were given body doubles.
Every jump, fall, and hit was done by the actors themselves. Arjun said this made the experience intense but also rewarding.
He said the team felt proud when they saw the final output.
Working with Vishakh Nair and Roshan Mathew
Arjun shared screen space with Vishakh Nair and Roshan Mathew in lead roles.
He said the bond between the three grew during training. Long practice hours helped them connect as a team.
Arjun said this was his first time working with both actors and described the experience as fun and smooth.
A year-long commitment
Chatha Pacha took nearly a year of Arjun’s time. During this period, he did not sign many other films.
Arjun said the gap did not worry him. He had releases during the year and felt satisfied with the work he was doing.
Fitness stays with him
Arjun said the biggest change after Chatha Pacha is his focus on fitness.
He said regular workouts and discipline are now part of his life, even though he is currently recovering from a minor gym injury.
What’s next for Arjun Ashokan
Arjun was last seen in Thalavara, where his performance received praise.
He will next appear in Disco, a Tamil film titled Moonwalk, and another upcoming production.
