Shah Rukh Khan became the sole owner of the residence in Delhi where he and his wife Gauri Khan began their married life. The actor has taken over the second and third floors of the property located in South Delhi’s upscale Panchsheel Park, adding to the basement and first floor that he already owned.
The property holds deep emotional significance for the couple, as it was their first home after their marriage in 1991, before Shah Rukh Khan moved to Mumbai to pursue acting full-time. The latest acquisition is valued at around Rs 37 crore, giving Shah Rukh Khan ownership of the entire building, according to a report by Moneycontrol. Built on a plot of 1,200 square yards (about 10,800 square feet), the residence is located in one of the most upscale neighborhoods of South Delhi.
As per the report, the deal was valued at around Rs 37 crore, with the underlying land value estimated at around Rs 34,260 per sq ft.Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan married on 25 October 1991, through three ceremonies held on the same day – a registered civil marriage, a traditional Hindu wedding and a nikah.Over the years, Jori spoke fondly of the house and the memories associated with it. In a previous interview with iDiva, she explained that she designed the house as a space to preserve the family’s journey together.
“Our house in Delhi is almost 20 years old. As many know, I am from Delhi and have lived a major part of my life here, so I thought it would be a great idea to buy and design a house close to my mother’s house. The idea was to put all our memories under one roof. Over the years, we have traveled and collected a lot of things and memories – with the kids, with SRK and I – and I wanted it to stay together. This is my home in Delhi,” she said.Gauri also shared that every corner of the residence reminds her of different chapters of their family’s life together, making it more than just a home.
