Salman Khan to play a retired superhero in 'Raj & DK' inspired by 'Hancock' - reports

Sources suggest that Salman Khan is in discussions with Raj and DK for a fun twist on the superhero genre, where he takes on the role of a hero who transitions into retirement. This comedy spectacle promises to combine humor with adrenaline-pumping action, contingent on securing the final script and a workable budget plan.

Salman Khan is reportedly in discussions with director duo Raj and DK for a new film that could take an unusual turn for the star. The project is described as a quirky superhero comedy in which Khan plays a hero who is ready to retire from saving the world.

The idea caught the actor’s attention, although the final decision will depend on the completed script and the film’s budget.

Salman Khan is in talks for a superhero comedy film

According to Bollywood Hungama, Raj and DK have been in talks with Salman Khan for the past three months and are now developing a story based on an unconventional superhero concept. The proposed film is said to blend humor and action and follow a hero who wants to break away from the role he has played for years. As per the report, “Salman Khan will be seen as a superhero who wants to hang up his mantle and retire from saving the world, after getting tired of doing the same thing repeatedly. But circumstances refuse to let him live in peace and keep bringing him back into action again and again, eventually thrusting him into a bigger conflict. Blending broad comedy with superhero beats, the narrative is a high-concept superhero comedy.”

Reports suggest that Salman Khan likes the basic idea but wants to see the full script before committing to the project. Budget is another major factor in the discussion. The source also added, “What Salman is worried about is the budget. He has asked Raj & DK to develop it keeping a proper budget in mind, as Salman is not in the mood to do an expensive superhero film. The director duo is working on the script, keeping in mind Salman Khan’s personality traits.”

Parts of the shoot were moved to Mehboob Studio so that Salman could stay close to the hospital while continuing work.

The move reportedly helped keep the film going without disrupting important sequences, including the extensive shooting of the song.Raj & DK are an Indian filmmaking duo featuring Raj Nidimuru and Krishna Dasarakottapally.
