Zach Krieger reveals what the Easter egg is in the ‘Resident Evil’ trailer.
While speaking with IGN, he revealed a fun and simple Easter egg in homage to the popular video game series that inspired the film. He revealed that it is an essential item of the video game that gives players health points.Elaborating on the matter, he said: “There’s a plant, on the left of the screen, over his right shoulder, that you can kind of see.
In the film, the shot extends further and you can see it [better]. I took the green grass from Resident Evil 4, and replicated the bucket exactly, you can see the bucket there at the end of that shot with the horizontal copper bar on it and the grass is exactly identical to Resident Evil 4.Regarding the reason for including the plant as a reference, he explained and expressed his enthusiasm for making the film. He added: “Although this may be living in a world [Resident Evil 2]I just wanted to use a little bit of the number 4 here just because it’s my favorite.
And I have some other elements from the 4 pieces scattered throughout this film that people will notice. To give more details about the film, Krieger also added that it will be based on the first day of the outbreak in Raccoon City. It will also show the characters moving from one place to another, like in video games to remain as authentic as possible.
What scene is Zack Krieger talking about?
Specifically, Krieger planted the pot in the scene where Austin Abrams’ character, Brian, is talking on the phone. If you pause the video, you can glimpse the plant in the upper left corner of the frame for just a few seconds. It’s a reference to Resident Evil 4, where similar herbs appear throughout the game and help the character regain health and energy.
