The cast and creators of Prime Video’s upcoming youth show, Off campusgathered in Hollywood on Wednesday night for the series premiere.
Based on Elle Kennedy’s books of the same name, the romantic series follows “an elite ice hockey team, and the women in their lives, as they grapple with love, heartbreak, and self-discovery — and form deep friendships and lasting bonds while navigating the complexities that come with the transition to adulthood,” according to the show’s synopsis.

Bright’s character is a music student and has her own little musical moment in the show’s first episode, which she teased ahead of Wednesday’s premiere. “There’s a really fun musical element in the first episode, which I had the honor of performing in. Luisa Levy serves as co-director and executive producer alongside Gina Fattore. Levy emphasized that the writers room did their best to deliver as many Easter moments as possible, and to see what’s to come in subsequent books. “It was very important to us to stay true to the fans and what they wanted the show to be,” she said.
“We identified what were non-negotiables, and then, as a writer’s room, we put as many Easter eggs in there as we could along the way, even if in ways that weren’t expected,” she continued.
while Off campus Promising to offer fans a swoon-worthy cast in front of their television, the cast and crew also insisted that the series will make sense to viewers. “Don’t be afraid to speak up and talk to your friends if you have something you want to say,” said Callen, who plays hockey player Dean Heyward-De Laurentiis, when asked what he hopes viewers take away from the series.
He continued: “Your friends are there because they love you and your family are there because they love you, so don’t be shy and speak up.”
Abdullah, who plays Hannah’s best friend Allie Hayes, stressed that the large cast assures viewers that they will find a character they can relate to. “I hope people feel like they are seen,” she said. “There are a lot of opportunities for people to get to know someone on the show.”
The four central hockey players, Cipriano, who plays John Logan, and Brooks, who plays John Tucker, serve as the male love interests of the book series. “I hope people will be inspired to climb the walls on their own and with other people,” Brooks said.
