Rajpal Yadav Rs. 9 crore case reached a crucial stage when the High Court heard the bail petition.

actor Rajpal YadavHe is currently in Tihar Jail in the check bounce cases, as the court said he failed to honor his commitment to repay the debts. The hearing on Yadav’s bail petition was held today, Thursday, February 12.

Now his lawyer Bhaskar Upadhyay claims that 50 percent of the dues in the actor’s financial insolvency case have already been cleared. He explained that they asked for an adjournment during the hearing on Thursday as they had to get a response from the opposing side on the bail petition filed by them.Upadhyay stated that he plans to meet Rajpal Yadav in jail to seek his instructions regarding the pending payments and understand his stand on the matter.

According to him, clear answers are likely to emerge in the next hearing on Monday.

He said that he did not reject the money invested for the purpose of investment and even earlier when the money was talked about, the company refused to take the money. 2012 deal is being negotiated, in which three months have already been completed, I can’t say anything about who gave money to Rajpal Yadav, it’s a family issue.

I will personally go to jail and tell you how to do it. So far we have given two and a half crores out of five crores, let’s see what the court will decide on Monday”.For those unfamiliar with the case, Rajpal Yadav later surrendered Delhi High Court directed him to do so in respect of multiple check bounce matters. The actor took a loan in 2010 to make his film Ata Pata Lapata, but failed to repay it. In 2018, a magistrate court sentenced both Rajpal and his wife to six months in jail.This judgment was upheld by the Sessions Court in 2019. Later, in 2024, when the couple approached the Delhi High Court seeking relief, it suspended the sentence on the grounds that they were not habitual criminals, giving them time to pay the dues. However, the refund did not materialize. Subsequently, a single-judge bench of Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma criticized the actor’s conduct, saying he had repeatedly failed to honor settlement commitments despite being granted several opportunities.
