Fans of the “Harry Potter,” “Gilded Age,” “House of the Dragon” and “Lanterns” franchises have a lot to look forward to this year, as HBO on Sunday released a new “Coming Soon” trailer showcasing first-look footage and release dates for some of the biggest upcoming web series.
HBO launches promotion for 20 titles
Harry Potter is scheduled for release in December
The trailer gives fans a glimpse at more than 20 titles set to debut this year and even those currently streaming online. Among the highlights were new footage from the upcoming TV movie “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.” The teaser briefly shows the young wizard stepping into a Quidditch field ahead of the show’s official premiere on December 25, 2026. The series has already generated buzz earlier this year after the first teaser became the most-watched trailer in the history of HBO and HBO Max.
House of the Dragon is gearing up to debut in June
Those waiting for another glimpse of House of the Dragon season 3, which is set to premiere on June 21, were treated to a sneak peek of Rhaenyra Targaryen crying as Daemon Targaryen tells her: “This is the moment when you become queen.”
“The Golden Age” is set for a fourth season
The beloved historical drama “The Gilded Age” has also been confirmed to return for a fourth season in 2026. HBO officially renewed the series in July 2025.
“Lanterns” is scheduled to be released on August 16
The trailer also highlighted the Lanterns, offering a new look at actor Kyle Chandler donning a superhero costume and flying.

Upcoming June and July releases
Also featured in the trailer is “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe,” the upcoming spin-off centered around The Big Bang Theory’s Stuart Bloom. Actor Kevin Sussman will reprise his role in the comedy, which is set to premiere on July 23.Additional projects shown in the teaser include “Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Seattle Seahawks,” which will premiere in August, and “Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness,” which will arrive on June 26.Along with scripted dramas and comedies, HBO Max has also premiered several documentaries and non-fiction projects, including a new documentary on “Earth, Wind & Fire” and the return of Conan O’Brien in “Conan O’Brien Must Go.”
