Day 12 for 'Karuppu' box office collections: Suriya's film dips 24.6 percent on Tuesday; The global total stands at Rs 253 crore

Suriya and Trisha Krishnan’s ‘Karuppu’ continued its theatrical run on the 12th, though the film saw a notable drop in collections after a strong second weekend.

Directed by RJ Balaji, the legendary entertainer has collected Rs 4.45 crore nett in India on its second Tuesday. According to Sakneelek, today’s 12th figure represents a 24.6 percent decline from the net Rs 5.90 lakh crore achieved on Monday. The film opened in 4,470 shows on Tuesday.

Karuppu’s global collection reached Rs 253.26 crore

‘Karuppu’ has now crossed another major milestone at the global box office. With a net collection of Rs 4.45 crore in India on the 12th day and addition of Rs 1 crore from overseas markets, the film’s worldwide total rose to Rs 253.26 crore.The film’s total overseas collection now stands at Rs 69 crore. Meanwhile, total collection in India reached Rs 184.26 crore. India’s cumulative net collection currently stands at Rs 159.20 lakh crore.

The Tamil version remains the driving force behind Suriya’s film

The Tamil version led the film’s performance again on the 12th. It contributed a net revenue of Rs 3.65 crore from 3,073 shows while recording an occupancy rate of 25 per cent.The Telugu version added a net collection of Rs 80 lakh from 1,397 shows and recorded an occupancy of 18 percent.

The film’s total Hindi net collection of Rs 159.20 crore was mainly built on its exceptional performance in Tamil Nadu. However, contributions from neighboring countries and overseas territories also played an important role in pushing the film beyond the Rs 250-crore mark worldwide.Tamil Nadu remained the largest contributor to ‘Karuppu’s 12th day earnings. The state generated a total of Rs 3.70 lakh crore.According to the state-level gross collection report, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana contributed Rs 80 lakh.

Karnataka added Rs 30 lakh while Kerala contributed Rs 21 lakh. The rest of India produced Rs 8 lakh, taking the day’s 12 total to Rs 5.09 lakh.

On the 12th day, the Tamil version recorded an overall occupancy of 26.15 percent. Occupancy improved during the day, rising from 16.77 percent in the morning shows to 30.38 percent during the night shows.‘Karuppu’ is a legendary entertainer directed by RJ Balaji.
