Angelina Jolie has been hit with an anonymous claim about her reputation in Hollywood, while two of her adult children are filing legal action to have Brad Pitt removed from their names. This development comes as legal disputes continue between the former spouses years after their separation.According to a Daily Mail column published on July 19, an unidentified person described as a Hollywood source made a sweeping claim about Jolie’s current standing in the entertainment industry. “People hate her,” the source said, though the column did not name any specific actors, filmmakers, studio executives or other industry figures who supposedly share that assessment of the actress and director.

Petitions by Maddox Chevan Jolie and Zahra Marley Jolie are pending for a name changeAccording to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, two of Jolie and Pitt’s adult children have filed petitions to legally change their surnames.

Maddox is requesting that his legal name be changed from Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt to Maddox Chivan Jolie. Zahraa is seeking the name Zahraa Marley Jolie. A hearing on Maddox’s petition is scheduled for September 14, while Zahra’s petition will be heard on September 28.

Both have already completed the required step of publishing notice of the proposed changes in the Los Angeles Daily Journal. Proof of Maddox’s publication was recorded on 7 July, with Zahra following up on 9 July.

None of the adult children described the petitions in this way or publicly explained the personal reasons behind the requests.Both children used public versions of their requested names before filing their legal petitions. Maddox was credited as Maddox Jolie for his work as an assistant director on his mother’s film “High Fashion.” Zahra was introduced as Zahra Marley Jolie when she graduated from a historically black college in May, having previously used the same name while agitating for a sorority.

Shiloh Nouvel Jolie has completed the name change process

One of Jolie and Pitt’s children has already completed the legal process to remove Pitt’s surname. Shiloh applied to become Shiloh Nouvel Jolie on her 18th birthday in May 2024. A Los Angeles judge granted the petition in August, making her the former couple’s first publicly known child to complete the legal process to officially change her name.Another child named Vivian Jolie was enrolled in a Broadway production in which she worked with her mother.

However, no public court record has confirmed that professional accreditation reflects a legal change of name.
