The family of a fourth-grader, who allegedly died by suicide at a private school in Jaipur last year, say they are still waiting for justice and have gained access to new CCTV footage of the classroom that allegedly shows their daughter being repeatedly bullied.

The accident occurred on November 1, 2025, when the girl fell from the fourth floor of the school building and was declared dead on arrival when she was taken to the hospital. Her parents claimed that the girl was bullied at school and no action was taken by the teachers and school administration even after she was reported.
The parents have demanded action against the school teachers under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, news agency PTI reported.

What the footage shows
The family claims new CCTV footage from inside the classroom supports their claims that their daughter was bullied shortly before the incident.
According to them, their daughter was seen entering the classroom in the footage, greeting her classmate before participating in the dance activity. Later, she was allegedly seen being bullied by students, according to a PTI report.
The family added that the teachers did not protect their child even after she showed signs of distress and asked them for help.
“Claim of incitement to commit suicide”
The girl’s father said that they want a case of abetment to suicide against the class teacher and that the oath has not been imposed yet.
“It has been 8 months. CCTV footage has come to light. We demand abetment of a case of suicide against the class teacher. This section has not been imposed yet. The police filed a charge sheet on July 2 containing a section of negligence against the class teacher. The principal and the owner of the school have only a section of negligence against them. We demand abetment of the case of suicide,” he told news agency ANI.
He added that against the principal and owner of the school, Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 should be invoked. The section deals with punishment for cruelty to a child.

The father said: “This is a systematic failure. We want judicial scrutiny of the case.”
He pointed out that the school’s affiliation was canceled by the Central Board of Secondary Education after inspections, a move that was later temporarily stayed by the Rajasthan High Court.
CBSE has cited several reasons for revoking the affiliation, including serious violations of safety standards and noting that the school’s explanation for the student’s death failed to satisfactorily address the lapses.
While the school described the incident as “unfortunate” and claimed that it “followed all due process as per norms”, the CBSE panel found that the response “does not match the actual situation observed during the inspection” and that the explanations given were “general in nature” and failed to account for the specific violations recorded during the investigation, HT had earlier reported.

The board also said the incident was preventable and occurred due to a systemic failure.
“Unqualified teachers are blind spots.”
Referring to the move by the Central Board of Secondary Education, the girl’s father alleged that there were “unqualified” teachers in the school who were appointed on a “contract basis” and had not passed the necessary examinations.
He alleged that there were “blind spots” in the school due to “cost-cutting” even after they charged high fees $2 lakh.
“They hired teachers on contract basis. They hired new unqualified teachers. 85% of the teachers they retained are also unqualified. Imagine how that school works. These people don’t even have a bachelor’s degree in education… The CCTV footage shows her being bullied by the students even when the class was going on, and the footage shows the students fighting against her….”
