But for me, we didn’t shoot for a few months in between, and of course Ranveer and Deepika had a baby during that phase as well. So he’s been through a lot,” Manav told Marazzi. He added that when Ranveer returned to the sets, the transformation was evident.“When I first saw him in Bangkok, he was in the hamza stage – fully strengthened, very particular about his food and his discipline.
Months later, when he returned, he had transformed into Jaskirat, a sharp little boy, like someone straight out of the army. So, yeah, the transition was very clear.”
“Knowing Ranveer, I was sure he would create magic.”
Mazen admitted that he was not surprised by Ranveer’s transformation, given the actor’s dedication.“I was honestly not surprised that the film asked for it, and knowing Ranveer and the kind of dedication he has towards cinema, I was sure he would create magic – and he undoubtedly did.”

“Madhavan is fun – like an elder brother on set.”
Speaking about working with R Madhavan, Manav described the experience as enriching and relaxing.“He’s delightful. He has all these years of experience and he’s very intelligent, which makes him very wise. We had long conversations – he realizes I’m a student of film and people, and he shared a lot.”He added that Madhavan’s presence made things easier for the co-actors. “He is a very secure actor, with no territorial behaviour.
It felt like Big Brother was helping you so you wouldn’t feel embarrassed or go through bumps.
Aditya Dhar “Like a Swan” in the group
Manav also praised director Aditya Dhar, describing his working style with an interesting analogy.“I said he’s like a swan—on the surface, he flows smoothly, but under water, he paddles very hard.”Despite the scale of the production, the director remained calm and in control. “With this huge canvas and actors, he was still calm, calm and smiling.
He did a great deal of homework.”Highlighting Aditya’s directorial approach, Manav said that the director emphasized restraint.“All the details that people talk about — he was so clear. And he would effortlessly say, ‘Let’s get it down to a six if it’s a ten.'” He cuts through the flamboyance of the acting and lets the content shine.
