Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told reporters that the US had given Ukraine and Russia a June deadline to reach an agreement to end the nearly four-year war.

If the June deadline is not met, the Trump administration will put pressure on both sides to meet it, he said.

“The Americans are proposing that the parties end the war by the beginning of this summer, and maybe put pressure on the parties according to this schedule,” Mr. Zelensky told reporters on Friday (Feb. 6, 2026).

His comments were restricted until Saturday (February 7, 2026) morning.

“And they say they want to do everything by June. And they want to do everything to end the war. And they want a clear timetable of all events,” he said.
