Pakistani police have arrested two men and a woman in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A suicide attack at a Shia mosque in Islamabad Friday (February 6, 2026).
At least 31 people were killed and 169 others injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up at the Khadija Al-Kubra Masjid-cum-Imambarga in Islamabad’s Tarlai area, one of the worst terror attacks to target the community in recent years.
In an operation late on Friday (February 6), two brothers and a woman of the suicide bomber were arrested and are currently being interrogated, a police official said.
According to investigating officials, the identity card recovered from him helped establish the identity of the assailant as Yasir.

Official records show his permanent address as Abbas Colony, Shiro Jangi, Charsadda Road, Peshawar, while his temporary residence was at Ganj Mohalla Khazian, Peshawar.
Investigators have revealed that the attacker had stayed in Afghanistan for about five months before the Islamabad suicide bombing.
After these revelations, investigative agencies have shifted their focus towards identifying and dismantling the network behind the attacks.
More raids are being conducted in Peshawar and Nowshera to identify possible ringleaders and contacts, police officials said.
Officials stressed that the investigation into the Islamabad suicide bombing is being conducted from all angles and additional evidence is expected to emerge, which will help clarify the full extent of the terror incident.
