Kick and Twitch streamer Cheesur is suddenly at the center of a huge online storm. Widely circulated posts claim he provided “critical intelligence” that helped Mexican forces track down and kill cartel leader Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, known as El Mencho.

The allegations spread quickly after reports said that El Mencho died during a military operation in Mexico. But there is no evidence that Chessor had any role in that operation. No Mexican authority mentioned him and there is no official report linking him to the mission. Right now, the story linking him to El Mencho is based only on social media talk, not confirmed facts.El Mencho, 59, was the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, also known as the CJNG.

Mexican officials said that he was seriously injured during a clash with security forces in the town of Tapalpa, Jalisco state, and later died while being airlifted for treatment. After the operation, violence broke out in several areas as cartel members responded. As the real news came out, Chisor’s name began to circulate and this is where the confusion began.

how Nermin Dzeverovicknown as Cheesur, has been linked to El Mencho and CJNG rumors

Chisor’s real name is Nermin Dzaferovic. He is 23 years old and lives in Jacksonville, Florida.

He started streaming on Twitch in 2019, mostly playing NBA 2K. Over time, he built a following on both Twitch and Kick, where he now has around 142,000 followers on each platform. His connection to El Mencho rumors date back to November 2024. At that time, Cheesur posted a powerful message on X directed at the cartel leader. The post quickly went viral. Soon after, he disappeared from social media for a short period. A post about a missing person bearing his real name and details has started circulating online.

He later returned and said his identity had been stolen. That incident remained in people’s minds. Then in February 2026, reports reminded the public that the US government had offered a $15 million reward for information leading to El Mencho’s capture. Around the same time, Chessor made online comments suggesting he would receive the reward. Some viewers thought he was joking. Others thought he was serious. So, when Mexican forces announced El Mencho’s death, social media users connected the dots themselves. Old posts have resurfaced. The clips were shared again. Some users even claimed that it provided “important information.”However, there is no official statement from Mexican authorities, the US government, or law enforcement supporting this claim. To date, there is no confirmed evidence linking Chisor to the military operation.Chessor has also faced past controversies unrelated to this situation, including online disputes and criticism over his fundraising efforts. Because of this history, his name often quickly attracts attention. However, mentioning his name alongside one of the world’s most dangerous cartel leaders is dangerous. For now, what has been confirmed is simple: El Mencho died in a Mexican military operation. The allegations regarding Chisor remain unproven and unsupported by official sources.
