A dramatic video showed a Louisiana utility worker dangling from his seatbelt after a bucket truck caught fire on Tuesday, before collapsing to the ground. The unidentified worker was seen hanging high above the street from the burning cherry picker while thick black smoke billowed from the truck below.
The flames continued to spread as he struggled to stay safe.
Coworkers on a Baton Rouge street rushed toward the scene, apparently scrambling for a way to get him down safely.After the man fell, he was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, according to the International Federation of Football Players. The cause of the fire is believed to be a mechanical failure in the truck, according to fire officials.
