An airport in Florida will soon be renamed after US President Donald Trump after a bill proposing the change was passed in the state legislature on Thursday (February 19, 2026).

Trump, a real estate mogul who has emblazoned his name on buildings around the world, has sought to make his mark on the nation in an unprecedented image and architecture campaign.

Florida’s Republican-led legislature has passed a bill to make Palm Beach International Airport the “President Donald J. Trump International Airport.” Governor Ron DeSantis, a one-time opponent of Mr. Trump, is expected to sign the measure into law.

Palm Beach’s airport, a town known for its sandy beaches and luxury estates, is just minutes from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence.

An airport name change also requires the approval of the Federal Aviation Administration.

It will be the latest company to be renamed by Mr. Trump.

Arts complex in Washington and the late President John F. The president’s select board of the Kennedy Center, the Kennedy memorial, voted in December to rename it the “Trump-Kennedy Center.”

That same month, the US State Department inducted Trump into the US Institute of Peace.

According to US media reports, Trump tried to rename New York’s Penn Station and Washington’s Dulles International Airport after him, but those efforts were rejected.

The Treasury Department has confirmed reports that drafts have been made for a commemorative $1 coin featuring Trump’s image, although laws prohibit the money from featuring a seated or living image of the president.

On Thursday (February 19), across the Justice Department’s headquarters, Mr. Covered by a large blue banner bearing Trump’s face, the agency has traditionally steered clear of political influence.
