Tommaso Cioni is married to Annie Guthrie, the daughter of Nancy Guthrie, the woman who was kidnapped from her Arizona home, authorities have not yet named the suspect.
Tommaso Cioni has received a lot of attention in the Nancy Guthrie disappearance case because he is said to have last seen her. The 84-year-old woman had dinner with Sioni’s wife, his daughter Annie, on January 31. Sioni then drops him at home, which is said to be close to them. He was reported missing the next day. Authorities believe Guthrie was abducted from her home in the interim.

The first sight of a possible suspect in the Guthrie case sparked renewed interest in Cione. Notably, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI, who are jointly handling the case, have clarified that they have not yet named suspects or persons of interest in the Nancy Guthrie case.

Another added, “Newly released images of suspect in Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping show he has a mustache. The other angle also looks like a beard. Many are speculating it could be Savannah Guthrie’s brother-in-law.”
Another said, “Annie Guthrie’s husband with a mustache and the suspect with a mustache. Also we haven’t heard from Annie Guthrie’s husband since Nancy disappeared.”

Despite these claims, there is no definite connection between Sioni and the images. Authorities have yet to identify the man in the new footage. Social media chatter, without evidence, also made claims about Sioni’s bandmate Dominic Evans and wife Annie following the release of the new footage.
A claimant said “Has anyone seen Annie Guthrie up close? The figure on the balcony is short and wearing a clearly padded dress. The eye brows seem to be shaped almost exactly like her. The eyebrows look female and the mustache looks fake.”
Some even junked the rumor about Sioni and the footage, saying, “I don’t know who needs to hear this, but these are obviously not Nancy Guthrie’s son-in-law’s eyebrows. I hope this ends this horrible nightmare for the family.” Cioni has been in the spotlight since former News Nation journalist Ashley Banfield reported that he was a ‘skeptic’ despite authorities dismissing the claim.
The search for Nancy Guthrie continues, and investigators believe time will be of the essence as the octogenarian is not expected to be in good health due to her lack of daily medication, reports that she has high blood pressure, heart problems and uses a pacemaker.
