Who is Luna Darwaiz? Fifth woman alleges sexual misconduct by Eric Swalwell as Democrat resigns from office

Luna Drews has come forward as the fifth woman to publicly accuse California Democratic Rep. and actor Eric Swalwell of sexual misconduct. Darwiz is a former owner of a modeling and software company.

She appeared at a press conference in Beverly Hills alongside her lawyer, Lisa Bloom. She detailed an alleged incident in 2018 in which she claimed Swalwell drugged, raped, and choked her until she lost consciousness and thought she was going to die.

What are the allegations?

Recalling the incident that occurred nearly 7 years ago, Droz said she met Swalwell while living and working in Beverly Hills. At the time, she was running a fashion software company, and claims Swalwell offered to use his political connections to help her business.

On their third meeting, they were attending a restaurant opening and planning to head to a political event afterward.According to Droz, Swalwell wanted to stop by his hotel room to pick up papers. She claims that after having just one glass of wine earlier that evening, she felt helpless and “heavy” when they arrived in the room. She claims she did not consent to any sexual activity and was unable to move or resist.

Droz explained that she did not report the incident to police in 2018 because she was intimidated by Swalwell’s authority and his family’s ties to law enforcement.

However, she documented the events in a journal and discussed them during treatment. These records will be used by her legal team to provide evidence to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Who are the four other women alleging sexual misconduct?

Before Droz came forward, four other women had already made serious allegations against Eric, leading to his resignation from Congress this week and his exit from the California governor’s race:

  • A former congressional aide accused Swalwell of raping her in a New York City hotel room in 2024. She claimed she was extremely drunk and that he ignored her repeated pleas to stop. She also described a second incident from 2019 where she woke up naked in his hotel room and had no memory of that night.
  • A woman who met Swalwell on social media alleged that he touched and kissed her without her consent. She claimed she was incapacitated during a personal encounter, and later found herself in his hotel room with gaps in her memory.
  • Two other women have come forward with digital harassment claims. They alleged that Swalwell sent unsolicited explicit messages and nude photos via platforms such as Snapchat after initiating contact under the guise of career counseling.

Eric Swalwell has “categorically and unequivocally” denied all allegations of sexual assault and rape through his attorney, Sarah Azari. He admitted making “errors in judgement” regarding his personal life and resigned his seat. But he maintains that the criminal charges are false.
