It said that the attacks were carried out along the border with Afghanistan and that Pakistan carried out the attacks targeting the hideouts of terrorists responsible for the recent attacks in the country.

Islamabad did not disclose the details of the raids. There was no immediate comment from Kabul.

In remarks early Sunday morning, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar wrote in X what he described as “intelligence-based, selective operations” by the military against seven camps of the Pakistani Taliban, also known as Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan or TTP. An affiliate of the Islamic State group was also targeted in the border area, he said.

In October, Pakistan also conducted strikes deep inside Afghanistan to target militant bases.
