A former senior employee at MrBeast’s media company has filed a federal lawsuit alleging years of sexual harassment, sexism and wrongful termination. This ultimately adds an important new chapter to the ongoing scrutiny surrounding YouTube’s biggest creator.

The complaint was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina by Lauren Mavrommatis, a former executive who worked for MrBeast from August 22, 2022, through November 6, 2025.

Who is Lauren Mavrommatis? He explained the lawsuit

Lauren Mavrommatis is a Brazilian-born content creator with a large following on Instagram and YouTube. Primarily appointed as the head of Beast Industries’ Instagram division in 2022, the character was later promoted to head of creative in 2023.Eventually, I reached the position of Chief Operating Officer of the vertical division. This made her one of the company’s most senior employees, with more than 20 people working under her leadership. As part of the lawsuit, Mavrommatis described a workplace culture in which harassment of female employees was normalized and complaints were dismissed. The focus of the complaint is the alleged conduct of the company’s then-CEO, James Warren, who asked Mavrommatis to meet him at his home in a “poorly lit” room instead of the company’s office.

During the same time, he allegedly made inappropriate comments about her appearance.

After these events, she started wearing loose clothing so that her appearance would not negatively affect her work. When she complained about sexual harassment and a hostile environment to the head of HR at Beast Industries, she was told that her allegations were “baseless,” and was later demoted and transferred to a role known among MrBeast employees as the department where “jobs die.”As Mavrommatis described in her own statement, the double standards applied to women in the workplace were stark: “They told me to shut up in front of my entire team. Yelling at your team at MrBeast means you’re a strong leader. A woman speaking up means she’s a problem.”The company fired Mavrommatis less than three weeks after she returned from pregnancy-related leave, telling her she was “too high quality” for the role she had been demoted to after her complaints were formally raised.

How did Beast Industries respond to these accusations?

Beast Industries denied the allegations in a statement, calling the complaint “based on intentional misrepresentations and categorically false statements.” They also added that the company has ample evidence, including Slack and WhatsApp messages, company documents and witness testimony, that refute its claims.
