In a statement released on Saturday, Wasserman said: “I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell,” which he said took place “long before her horrific crimes came to light.”
“I have no personal or business connections Jeffrey Epstein. As is well documented, I flew on Epstein’s plane in 2002 as part of a delegation with the Clinton Foundation on a humanitarian trip. I deeply regret having anything to do with either of them,” he said.
In 2021, Maxwell was convicted of five counts of sex trafficking and abuse of minors. She is serving 20 years in prison.
