YouTuber Karl Jobst has taken legal action against gaming personality Billy Mitchell, accusing him of defamation. The lawsuit was filed in a US court on April 8, 2026. According to Jobst, Mitchell defamed him by making untrue statements about him, which harmed his reputation, career, and financial situation.
Since Jobst runs a YouTube channel with over a million subscribers, he says trust is very important in his career.Jobst also alleges in the lawsuit that Mitchell used his name and image without permission and caused him emotional distress. He says Mitchell’s repeated statements made people lose confidence in him. Accordingly, Jobst believes that his listeners and profits were significantly affected by these allegations.
The lawsuit is centered around Defamation claims And damage to reputation
The main issue in the case concerns statements made by Mitchell. According to Jobst, Mitchell accused him of serious wrongdoing, including fraud and illegal acts related to his bankruptcy in 2025. One of the allegations said Jobst was involved in “Serious illegal activity.” However, Jobst says these claims are incorrect. He points to the bankruptcy report that found no violations in his case.
The lawsuit also talks about money raised through GoFundMe campaigns.
Mitchell allegedly said Jobst deceived people and took large sums of money dishonestly. Jobst denies this. He says the money was used to cover legal costs, and all details were clearly shared with donors. He also denies allegations that he moved money to avoid paying debts or misused funds from previous campaigns.Jobst says Mitchell repeated these accusations multiple times in videos, live streams and social media posts.
The complaint says Mitchell either knew the allegations were false or did not care whether they were true or not. Jobst believes this was part of a long effort to damage his image.Ultimately, Jobst asks the court for money to cover his losses and the stress he faced. He is also seeking additional damages as a penalty. This is not the first time the two have disagreed with each other, as there was a previous lawsuit between them that hurt Jobst.
