A video of a woman getting off an American Airlines plane bound for Tampa has gone viral because she refused to turn down the volume on her phone and instead peppered the flight crew with profanities.

The incident occurred last February, and the person who originally posted the video on TikTok described the woman as “drunk.” “An intoxicated lady on an American Airlines flight from Miami to Tampa refused to use headphones and was playing videos loudly from her phone. The flight attendants politely asked her to use headphones before we even left the gate, and the lady immediately became angry, became rude and aggressive. She was screaming and cursing at the staff and other passengers.

It continued until law enforcement finally came and thankfully removed it.

The American Airlines staff handled the matter very well and were respectful the entire time. Just a wild case. “Never in my life did I think I would witness this,” the person wrote. In the video recording the confrontation, the woman defended her action and said that she played a video clip for only 30 seconds at 50% volume and stopped after the second warning, all of which was filled with obscenities.

“I played a 30-second video at 50% volume, and that’s why you fired me?” She said.

“Listen. Isn’t this America with free speech or are we literally everyone’s a**holes?” When they arrived, I asked one of the police officers to drive the annoying passenger away. “Can’t I express my feelings?” I asked. “You can express your feelings there,” one of the policemen replied, pointing to the front of the plane.Playing a video on a phone without using earbuds is annoying and United Airlines has taken official steps to curb this. The airline has made it mandatory for all its passengers to wear headphones while listening to the device. The airline said it reserves the right to remove anyone who does not comply with the new rules and potentially bar them from flying on United aircraft in the future.
